What will be taught in your child's school on "Constitution Day and Citizenship Day"
I bet it will not be the Constitution.
Federal law not just allows but in 2004 mandated by Congress the designation of this day to "Constitution Day and Citizenship Day" and added two new requirements in the commemoration of this Day. "The first is that the head of every Federal agency provide each employee with educational and training materials concerning the Constitution on September 17th." "The second is that each education institution which receives Federal funds shall hold an educational program on the Constitution for students on September 17 of each year". By law the constitution should be taught in every school that receives federal funding on Friday Sept. 17th. Ask your children what they learned in school Friday. Find out what kind of role the Fed. Dept. of Ed. is taking in our schools. They are a federal agency and should supply the materials to their employees (teachers) I think you just might be surprised to find the truth, Better yet call your students school today and ask what they have planned for "Constitution Day and Citizenship Day" this Friday Sept. 17 2010.
