In addition to the big corporations that belong to the
U. S. Climate Action Partnership, twenty-six companies have sent an
open letter to the Senate demanding quick action to pass cap-and-trade legislation. Among the twenty-six are: Starbucks, Ebay, Hewlett Packard, Levi Strauss, Nike, Timberland, Gap, Clif Bar, Seventh Generation, Aspen Snowmass, and a bunch of electric utilities. Al Gore's investment firm, Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers, is also listed.
There's more: twenty-eight companies, labor unions, and environmental pressure groups are launching an
advertising blitz today in support of cap-and-trade. The companies include: General Electric, United Technologies, Johnson & Johnson, and Weyerhauser.
